SRKREC team has won First Prize in the prestigious National Level 36 Hours AICTE Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2020 conducted online from August 1st to August 3rd, 2020. The team named TeamHunters comprising of 2nd Year IT and EEE students have successfully developed a web-portal for income assessment of jute farmers and jute mill workers as per the problem statement (AR253) of Jute Board, Ministry of Textiles. The team has won One Lakh Rupees prize money.

87th Birthday of SRKREC Founder Shri Sagi Rama Krishnam Raju garu has been celebrated here on 19th July 2020 on campus. Secretary & Correspondent Shri S.V. Ranga Raju garu, Principal Dr. M. Jagapathi Raju garu, HODs and Staff were present during the occasion.
International Yoga Day has been celebrated by SRKREC Faculty and Staff on 21st June 2020 at Basketball Court, maintaining social distance.
In this connection, a special online Yoga Workshop has been conducted during 17th and 21st June 2020.
The Horizon 2020 (European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) programme and the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India have jointly approved SPRING (Strategic Planning for Water Resources and Implementation of Novel Biotechnical Treatment Solutions and Good Practices) under the Horizon 2020 Call: H2020-SC5-2018-2019-2020. With the release of funding to Indian partners on 14th May 2020, the project has officially taken off. (There are 8 Indian partners and 6 European partners from Norway, Finland, Hungary and Portugal in the SPRING consortium.)
Total project worth Rs.31 Crores has been sanctioned - India (Rs.6.11 Crores) and SRKREC (Rs.1.4 Crores)
