ABOUT US:

The Delta Research and Extension Centre (DREC), focuses on research and extension activities related to agriculture and aquaculture activities. Research and Extension faculty work cooperatively to solve agriculture and aquaculture problems and transfer new information and technology to the farmers of the delta region. The major goal of DREC is to increase the yields of commercial agriculture and aquaculture producers, while at the same time preserving the Delta’s environment and natural resources. DREC creates positive impacts throughout the Deltaic environment

VISION:

Centre of Excellence that can effectively provide adequate scientific, technical and educational support for optimal and economic exploitation of vast and diverse natural resources of Delta with emphasis on Agriculture & Aquaculture practices without any adverse impact on socio - economic and natural environment.

MISSION:

To participate in the achievement of sustainable development through the outputs of research and environmental studies in Deltas; provide scientific services with international quality and contribute to the society through serving it in a civilized manner.

OBJECTIVES

To study the geological, sedimentalogical and environmental aspects of Godavari Delta.
To Study the Impacts of climate change on Godavari Delta.
Recommend/ suggest remedial measures/ action plans for implementation.
Dissemination of scientific information, creating awareness and contribute directly to society
Familiarize / train the students in advanced technologies and current research trends.
To Collaborate with the State/ National/ International research expertise from related disciplines.
To carryout / participate in scientific conferences, forums and workshops. .
To publish research outputs in internationally reputed / SCI indexed journals.
