SRKR College Technology for Livelihoods

Director of SRKR Engineering College in Bhimavaram, Dr M Jagapathi Raju, emphasised the importance of rural communities leveraging technology to improve their living standards. The college's Science and Technology Innovation (STI-Hub), in collaboration with the Central Government's Department of Science and Technology (DST), organised an awareness programme in Kopalle village of Kalla mandal. The programme focused on how technology can be used to enhance rural employment opportunities for the poor and vulnerable. Dr G Harish Kumar Varma, Principal Investigator of the STI-Hub, presided over the event. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jagapathi Raju stated that SRKR Engineering College, as part of its social responsibility, is providing free technical assistance. He urged beneficiaries to form groups, create various products, establish self-employment groups, and achieve financial progress. College Principal Dr KV Muralikrishnam Raju highlighted that various products can be manufactured using natural water resources. He also mentioned that the college would offer free training in their specialised laboratories to selected individuals on extracting oil from fish in aquaculture ponds and preparing fish feed, which would assist farmers. He encouraged everyone to take advantage of this opportunity. Dr G Harish Kumar Varma stated that Kopalle, Peda Amiram, and Jakram villages, located near the college, have been specifically chosen to provide training to their impoverished residents. B Paral, Upa Sarpanch of Kopalle, Dr Ch Rambadri Raju, Co-Principal Investigator of STI-Hub, and Prof N Siva Kishan from the Vet Centre were among those who participated in the programme.

Professor Elected as IIPE Secretary

Dr. Kalidindi Brahma Raju, senior professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department at SRKR Engineering College here, has been elected as the honorary secretary of the Indian Institute of Production Engineering (IIPE), according to a communiqué from the college on Sunday. He was elected at a national council meeting held in Bangalore recently. In connection with the election of Brahma Raju to the national-level body, college secretary-cum-correspondent Sagi Ramakrishna Nishant Varma felicitated him. College Director Dr. Mantena Jagapati Raju and Principal Dr. KV Murali Krishnam Raju congratulated Dr. Brahma Raju and said he had also worked as an IEI (India) national executive council member before he took up the new post. At that time, he visited many countries to study the latest innovative technologies.

SRKR College Donates Autos on Founder's Day

SRKR Engineering College celebrated the 92nd birth anniversary of its founder Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju by donating two auto-rickshaws to Chinna Amiram Gram Panchayat to assist with waste collection efforts. During a special event held on Saturday, Bhimavaram MLA and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu, along with West Godavari district collector Chadalavada Nagarani paid floral tributes to the statue of the founder. The college's Secretary and Correspondent Sagi Ramakrishna Nishant Varma handed over the vehicle keys to M Gangadhar Rao, the Bhimavaram Rural MPDO, in the presence of the MLA and the Collector. Additionally, the collector inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by the college's NSS unit. Certificates were presented to the student donors by both the MLA and the Collector. In his remarks, Nishant Varma expressed gratitude to the district administration and elected representatives for their ongoing support of the college's development. College officials also recalled that Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju served as a contractor during the construction of the Nagarjuna Sagar Project and was honored with the "Metal King Award" by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for his contributions. College Vice President SV Rangaraju, Director Dr M Jagapati Raju, Principal Dr KV Muralikrishna Raju, and Administrative Officer Ch Dilip Chakravarthy were present.

Youth should be alert about cyber crimes-CI Kali Charan speaking at Bhimavaram SRKR College.

Bhimavaram Two-Town CI G. Kali Charan said that youth and intellectuals should also be alert about cyber crimes. An awareness seminar on cyber crime was conducted for mechanical engineering students at Bhimavaram SRKR Engineering College on Saturday. He said that since intellectuals and students are also becoming victims of cyber crimes, such programs are being conducted to create widespread awareness on the matter. He primarily advised students not to respond to any phone calls from unknown numbers. He also said that students and youth should stay away from intoxicating substances like drugs and ganja (marijuana). He mentioned that female students can get help from the police through the Shakti app if they face any trouble. College Principal K.V. Muralikrishnaraju, speaking on the occasion, said that students should take note of the points shared by the police from their experience and be careful in the future. Two-Town SI K. Ramarao, College Mechanical Engineering Head K. Seetharamaraju, Allu Srinivas, and others participated in the program.

Inventions useful to society should be made

CCC Group Founder and CEO Undavalli Sreenagaveer said that students should develop useful apps in hackathon competitions by creating inventions that are beneficial to society and can be turned into products in the future. As part of the 'Vedic Vision 2K25' program, a 24-hour non-stop hackathon competition was launched on Thursday at Bhimavaram SRKR Engineering College.
