The Department of Engineering Mathematics and Humanities has its being since the inception (1980) of the college. The academic environment, the infrastructure, the dedicated and highly qualified faculty finetune the intellectual acumen of the students and play a key role in transforming the young engineering students into the most aspiring professional future corporate citizens. The Department offers courses to all the students of four-year B. Tech & the first year of M.Tech on par with other Engineering Departments. It is a well-known fact that Mathematics and Humanities are integral to the technical education.
Having enough number of doctoral degree holders, the department evinces a great amount of research orientation and commitment. The department is recognized as a Research Center by JNTUK, Kakinada, considering its research potential. The faculty supervise the research for Ph.D. & M.Phil. programs. There are twelve Doctorate holders , four faculty members are pursuing their Ph.D ; eleven scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. & M.Phil. through the Research Centre of the department. The Dept. holds to its credit an Indo – Israel collaborative research project and three more projects through the Center for Research and Development (CRD) of the institution. The Dept. is flourishing with an objective of providing a strong mathematical application in the methods and techniques of Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Discrete Mathematical structure to the benefit of engineering students of different disciplines.
The veteran faculty of Management Sciences with industrial and academic backgrounds play a vital role in enriching the entrepreneurial, organizational and behavioral skills of the students which in turn makes them industry-ready. They impart business environment and etiquette to the students with experiential practices such as case study, group discussion, role play and digital pedagogy. The Management Sciences build business knowledge, enhance professional network, and boost up the career prospects of the engineering students.
